RIVER SUP 

Want to have a go at White Water SUP? Fancy developing your White Water SUP skills? Fancy a guided river trip on the Dee (Spey or Don)? Then check out some experiences we have coming up over the next few months.

 

Introduction to White Water SUP

  • Saturday 29th October @Potarch

  • Sunday 20th November @Potarch

  • Saturday 3rd December @Potarch

1000 TIL 1230. £45pp

Progressive White Water SUP skills

  • November.  5th, 12th & 19th  (26th - back up week)

  • January. 7th, 14th &21st (28th - Back up week)

Saturdays | 10 TIL 1230| £120pp

The 1st session will be at Potarch and then dependant on the individuals within the group we will forge a specific plan for the next 2 sessions. This could be another session at Potarch, different location on the Dee or a river trip (The third week the aim will be to do a river trip to put into practice and consolidate the skills learnt)

 

Content for both the introduction to WW SUP and the progressive sessions:

  • Personal equipment, to include quick release leash systems

  • Board design and selection.

  • Understanding and reading the environment

  • Monitoring height / Stance

  • Breaking in and out of the flow

  • Looking after self and being apart of a group on the river.

  • Basic rescues

This list is not exclusive...... the sessions are flexible and the aim is to meet the needs of each individual. 

 

Boards: we have a wide range of specific river boards (9’6” and 11’ boards) for you to try.

Guided River Trips.

  • Sunday 23rd October

  • Sunday 30th October

  • There will be more advertised over the coming weeks - or is have a date in mind get in touch and we can arrange something. 

£50pp | 10am meet | 2-3 hours of paddling time | Finished by 2pm. 

These will be on the River Dee (however can also be done on the River Don or Spey) Specific location will be dependant on the group experience and the river levels. Sections could include anywhere between Invercauld Bridge (Braemar) and Potarch Bridge.

 

Spaces are limited for all of the above to 4 people - we like to keep numbers low so we can focus on specific coaching requirements for each individual.

All equipment is provided, however people are welcome to use their own equipment. We have a wide range of specific river boards for you to try.  

 

Please note that these sessions are not designed for beginners. Some basic experience is required. Participants need to be able to paddle efficiently on both sides, able to turn the board effectively and ability to self rescue.
