Backed by more than 27 years of experience, Aquaplay Scotland provides outdoor learning and youth group activities. Based in Aberlour, Banffshire, our company is dedicated to providing exciting, stimulating events that permit pupils to develop their abilities.
The outdoor environment provides an exciting context in which students may develop their skills and personal attributes through activities organised by Aquaplay Scotland. We offer great opportunities for young people to have fun while supporting and building on their learning within school. Courses may be tailored to suit the needs of different groups of learners, from a single day’s activity to a course running across several weeks, or even months.
Alongside the skills associated with an activity, pupils are encouraged, through tasks and challenges, to development important life skills. This includes self-reflection and evaluation, problem-solving, team-building, decision-making, leadership, and communication. If required, we can focus on one specific skill, developing it in more depth. We can also incorporate risk assessment techniques, an introduction to water safety and rescue methods, and scenarios for pupils to practice first aid skills.
Aquaplay Scotland provides opportunities for personal achievement, and experiences beyond the classroom, where pupils will meet challenges and success at their own individual level. Our outdoor learning activities contribute toward young people becoming successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens, and effective contributors.
Our activities and skill development exercises naturally contribute to some of the desired health and well-being outcomes of the curriculum for excellence. We have included some examples below.
