About us

Aquaplay Scotland, the No 1 provider of outdoor activities in the north is run by Jim Gibson, an experienced level 4 kayak and level 2 open canoe coach who has paddled and led groups in such diverse places as Austria, France, Slovenia, Turkey, Scotland and also Nepal. He is a former Scottish Canoe Association Coach of the Year (2006/07) and regularly runs coach training and assessment and white water safety and rescue courses for the British Canoe Union under the remit of UKCC. Jim has a love of working and playing in the natural environments of our lochs, coast and rivers and enjoys introducing newcomers to these in a safe yet adventurous way.
With our team of carefully selected staff, trained in the environment they are working in, to governing body standard including first aid, you will have the opportunity to play safely on many local waters. Experience the Spey with an introduction to fast moving water and fun rapids. The river Findhorn providing an adventurous outing with a variety of day trips paddling more serious grade 2 - 4 rapids with an emphasis on safety and teamwork. The river Avon (pronounced ''Aan'') flowing from the Cairngorm Mountains down to the Spey, offering a thrilling ride over roller coaster waves and through numerous rapids. Add to these the experience of navigating your way through a deep naturally carved gorge, against the force of the water, testing your communication and group work skills and you will agree that we can provide aquaplay for all levels of ability!
As the Premier outdoor and water activities provider in the north we will be delighted to offer your team a variety of water activities and challenges designed to suit your requirements.
